a period of great airport lounge expansion

We are in a period of great airport lounge expansion here in the US. It started with the American Express Centurion lounges open to Platinum cardholders about a decade ago. They are now being overtaken by the Chase Sapphire and Capital One lounges with better food and comparable top quality cocktails.
