Tabacon Hot Springs
Around the volcano are numerous sites advertising hot springs. Its said that most of them have wells to bring the hot water up. Tabacon is the original hot spring resort around Arenal and is open to day trippers. It is a series of pools, waterfalls and streams of hot water moving down a small section of canyon.
I'm usually disappointed with hot springs, because most pump the water into a big concrete swimming pool. Tabacon was not like that and is the best commercial example of building your hot springs for high volume traffic well still making it look natural. All of the pools and soaking spots felt like they were carved out of rock naturally, and the grounds had numerous flowers.
