Hosmer Grove
On the way back down the mountain we stopped at Hosmer Grove a man made forest. The creator introduced about 40 various species of trees from throughout the world. He hoped to find a tree he could grow for timber. Overall only about 20 trees survived. Most did not like the Hawaiian soil which did not allow the roots to grow deep, so with heavy wind they blew over.
