About a year ago I struggled to get ODBC set up on my Mac using MySQL, at the time it was a pain. Apples ODBC Administrator generally did not work, and it was hard to tell exactly how you were supposed to set things up. I was able to get it working after lots of testing, but by that time I no longer had much of a need for it….
Well, guess what - MySQL.com has finally released a Mac package of the MySQL Connector! I downloaded it, selected install, it ran, then the MYODBCConfig ran, I set up my data sources, tested it and it worked! When I switched over to NeoOfficeJ, set up a database and it saw my ODBC entry!
Finally, ODBC connections on Mac OS X is as easy as Windows….. Download MySQL Connector now.
